Back by popular demand, this online course will be run over two Tuesday mornings in July 2021. This will enable you to practice some of the things learned in Session one and prepare you for Session two. Tuesday 13th July 9am to 1pm - Session one and Tuesday 20th July 9am to 1pm - Session two.

Smartphones, simple editing apps and accessories make it easier than ever to produce high quality, captivating video. This hands-on workshop aims to provide you with the tools to confidentially get the best from your phone and create engaging video content, in a style appropriate to your audience.

Whether you are a business owner, part of a marketing and communications team, customer-facing or just want to improve the way you document and communicate using simple, yet creative visuals and apps - our team will guide you through a process to help capture engaging moments, stories, or events.

You’ll learn how to get the best out of your smartphone's capabilities and taken through the steps of capturing video, editing and uploading.

About the tutors

This course has been developed by the University of Lincoln’s School of English and Journalism that has produced students now working for the BBC, ITV and Sky.

Our tutors for this online course are seasoned broadcast professionals and journalists having worked on major UK TV such as the BBC, ITV, GMTV and news, sports, entertainment, and features.

Who should attend

Using Apple or Android our course will suit those with little or no experience of filming but a keen interest to document, showcase and explain stories, events or things of value.

The course would particularly suit those working in small and medium-sized businesses, in communications, PR, marketing and want to find new ways to enhance webpages, social media or vlogs.

The workshop is fully funded and places are limited so be sure to apply for yours today. When booking you are committing to attend both sessions. Confirmation of your place will be sent separately once your eligibility has been checked post receiving your registration.

Please note we are only able to offer one place per company to ensure we can support as many businesses as possible. To qualify for this funded support, your business must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in Greater Lincolnshire. Apologies, no support intermediaries, public bodies or financial sector businesses.

Am I eligible?

The workshop is available to businesses, partnerships, sole traders, and registered charities, with a trading address located within Greater Lincolnshire (North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire & Lincolnshire).

To attend, your business must complete an SME enrolment form in order to check the business’s eligibility against the funding criteria. (The form will be sent to you on completion of an Eventbrite booking - if one has not already been completed and on file).

Please note that attendance at Business Lincolnshire events will not preclude eligibility to access grant funding.
